Can I use WDS with the new 802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station?

Airport Base Station
802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station

Apple have released a new Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS)

The major differences and improvements are:

  • Support for 802.11a and 802.11n as well as 802.11b and 802.11g
  • Three LAN ports over the original's single LAN port.
  • Abilty to connect a USB 2 hard drive to the USB port.
  • Ability to connect multiple hard drives and printers to the USB port

It now looks like the new 802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station DOES support WDS.

Read from page 39 of the recently released Designing AirPort Extreme 802.11n Networks manual.

Despite my earlier hesitation about WDS support, it is now looking like it is a feature of the new Airport Extreme 802.11n base station.
